January 2012
January 3, 2012  We went to have lunch with David.  Then came back to the trailer.  The above picture is our location here in Purcell, OK.
January 4, 2012.  We got out to go have lunch with David then came back to the trailer.  About 4:30 I remembered that I needed to check
the propane.  One tank was empty.  I took it off and went to Purcell Propane to have it refilled.  $24.50 for the 30 lb bottle which is the
cheapest we have bought in a while.  In Douglas GA we paid $40 to get it filled.
January 5, 2012.  This morning I picked up Shelley to take her to the store.  On the way the temperature hit 28º.  To day we hare suppose
to have a high of 65º.  Ron Ellis came by for a visit this morning.  Always good to see Ron.  Later we went to Braum,s for a burger .
McDonald,s  is just across the street and is not closed.  It will be torn down and rebuild.  Needless to say Braum’s was very busy.  There
were also a lot of football traffic from Kansas State on the way to Dallas and the Cotton Bowl .
January 6, 2012.  About 10 am I went over to help David put down new tile floor in the bathroom that they have been working on.  By
3:40 PM we had one row of tile down.  I left as I needed to go by the bank.  David said he intended to finish tonight.  It needs to set 24 hours
before the grout can be put in.  He has the Cabinet maker coming in Monday.  I was so sore that I turned in before dark with 2 aspirin and
a sleeping pill.   I just am not used to manual labor.
January 7, 2012.  As my sister had planed a birthday party at Rodney’s pizza, in Purcell, at three PM we went over to visit with Dave and
Soni about 12:30 until the party.  David was really feeling sore also.  About 2:30 Sue called from Rodney’s and said that there had been
a mix up in the scheduling for the party room and it would be 4 PM before we could use it.  So, Bill, Sue and Phillip came over to David's
and we visited until about 2:40 then headed to Rodney’s.  The birthday party was to celebrate David, Shelley and Phillip’s birthdays with
are all in January.  About ½  through my second piece of pizza I broke a tooth.  I cannot believe it as I had been eating popcorn which
should have broken it the night before.  It sure took a lot of my energy.  I am lucky that there was no paid involved.  Soni tried to get me
in to emergency dentist but he was out of town.  As we had planned on leaving in the morning I said that we could continue with our plans.
We plan on heading to Livingston, TX, our home address, for a couple of days so will go to the dentist in Livingston.  Hopefully the pain
will stay away.  It was a great party otherwise.  In attendance was Sue, Bill, Gordon, Marlene, Philip, Shelley, Troy, David, Soni, Alyssa,
Mary Alyce, Steven, Kennedy and Seth.  When we left Rodney’s we went by to see Kennedy and Seth.  They live just a couple of blocks
from David.
left is the cake.

Right is the birthday kids
January 8, 2012.  We left Purcell and was on I-35 by 6:05 am.  We made a stop at the rest stop at mile 60 to call David and tell him we had
already left.  Another rest stop was made on the 1st TX rest stop getting into TX.  We continued on and arrived in downtown Dallas about
8:45 am.  You have to go through downtown to get to I-45 due to construction.  Boy, this time on Sunday morning is the time to go through
Dallas.  There were hardly any traffic compared to what it is usually like.  We stopped at a rest stop just a few miles from our turn-off at
Huntsville to head east towards Livingston.  At the rest stop Marlene heated some Taco Soup and we sat on one of the picnic tables and
had lunch.  Then we continued on to Huntsville and our turn off to go to Livingston.  A couple of blocks  before we turned onto hi way 190
I got a message on the message center that I needed to service the trailer brakes.  I pulled off to check.  The lights worked but the trailer
brakes did not.  I continued on to Livingston.  After getting to Rainbow’s End, Marlene got us checked in for two nights.  After getting the
trailer set and TV Dish out I started trying to find out why the brakes were not working.  I am getting power from the PU to the trailer plug.
The fuses from the trailer cord are all OK.  I crawled under the trailer and did not find any wires that were not connected.   I got out the
Trailer Manual to see if I could get a clue there.  All I got from the troubleshooting section was a broken circuit.  Find and Fix.  It did not
give me any clue what or where to look.  After about a hour it started raining so I gave up and came inside.   Elevation here at Rainbow’s
End is 357 feet.   GPS coordinates are N30.641760, W94.870360
January 9, 2012.  About 6:30 it started raining really hard.  I was planning on going to the dentist at 8 am but it was still raining very hard.
About :15 it did lighten up so I left.   Dr  Reese was able to work me in at 11 am.  His x-ray developer had gone out so he was not able to do
a x-ray.  He did look and told me my options.  I am going back tomorrow at 4 PM to get the x-ray.  He will probly pull the tooth then.  It will
be $100 to pull.  Options went up to $3800 for a tooth implant.  On the way back to the camper at Rainbow’s End I kept analyzing the
message on the PU’s message center.  it said Service Trailer Break System.  I took this to mean that there was something wrong with
the trailer brakes.  As Livingston does not have a Chevy Dealer here we drove about 40 miles to Woodville.  I had checked the fuses
on the PU yesterday, all but the ½ inch square fuses that I could not check.  It turned out to be one of these 30 amp fuses.  The total bill
for a blown fuse was 77.38.  The fuse itself was $8.98.  All my learning experiences cost me money.  The rain quit about 4:30 PM  All
the creeks were out of their banks and all the bar ditches were full.  Tomorrow is suppose to be clear.
January 10, 2012.  I had a dentist appointment at 4 PM but when the dentist found out that I had not taken the amoxicillin that I need to
take before I get any type of dental work done.  Dr Reese  gave me a prescription and had me come back in the morning.  If you need a d
dentist in Livingston I highly recommend Dr Reese.
January 11, 2012.  I had a dentist appointment this morning at 8 am to get a tooth pulled that I had broken off Saturday eating pizza.  By
9:05 we pulled out of Rainbow’s End heading towards FL.  The traffic on I-10 and I-12 was pretty heavy.  We stopped one time about 3:30
PM to take a brake and let Marlene get something to eat.  Then we continued on stopping at exit 13 going to Theodore to boondock at
a campground there.  It was the I-10 Campground.  We will leave early in the morning going to Lake City to see Marlene’s cousin Norman
and to leave our trailer while we are at Bonnet Creek near Orlando, FL.  GPS coordinates are N 30.559222, W88.193124 near Theodore
January 12, 2012.  We arrived at Lake City about 3 PM and got set up at Norman and Bonnie's.  We visited for a while then finished
setting up the camper.  Norman has been working on his 5th wheel getting it ready to do some camping.  We dry camped for the night
from 5:30 to 10:30 and overnight the battery was still 82 percent charged.  I even made coffee with the electric coffee maker.   From
Livingston to Lake City we averaged 12.4 pulling the trailer at 61 MPH.
January 13, 2012.  We left Norman and Bonnie's about 10 heading to Orlando.  We stopped about 1/3 way  and had breakfast at
Waffle House.  We arrived at Wyndham Bonnet Creek about 2.  We had to wait about 30 minutes to get the room.  We are staying in a
one bedroom Presidential Suite which has about 1500 sq ft.  The Presidential's are twice the size of the one bedroom deluxe’s.  The
Presidential's also have first class appliances and full size washer and dryers.  We will be the Presidential until January 20 when we will
change to a 2 bedroom deluxe.  Which is about the same size with 2 bedrooms.  It was 58 degrees when we got here.  Starting Sunday
it will be the up 70’s for the next week if the forecast is correct.  We averaged 22.4 MPG traveling at 61 MPH.
January 14, 2012.  This morning we went to Denny’s for breakfast then went to Wal-Mart grocery shopping.  Still cool.  It got up to 59º
today.  After getting all the groceries up to our room we were tried.  We didn’t do much but watch some good movies on TV and play
on the computers.
January 21, 2012.  The Lazy River had a lot of people in it today.  Almost got crowded.
January 22, 2012.  Today the Lazy River was a little quite which was nice.  Just before I got out more people started getting in.  I did a
video of the river which turned out to be 10.8 Megs To big to send as a e-mail attachment.

January 26, 2012.  The Lazy River was crowded again today.  Temperature was 80º.
January 27, 2012.   Friday was check out day from our one bedroom Presidential.  We packed our stuff on to a cart and checked out about
9 am.  Our 2 bedroom deluxe was not ready so we decided to go to Sizzlers for breakfast.  After a  long leisurely breakfast we went
back to Bonnet Creek.  I was expecting a new Dish receiver to replace the one that had gone out.  I checked  UPS tracking and found
that it had arrived.  I went to the main check in and received the package.  We then went back to Tower 6 to see if our room was ready.
It was so we went up to the 5th floor to occupy our room.  Our cart was in the room so we finished unloading the cart and I took it back down
to the check in area.  After relocating our stuff we spent the rest of the day watching TV and playing on the computers.
January 28, 2012.  Today we had visitors, Jim and Nan Mc Fellin, who we met while hosting at Picacho Peak State Park years ago.  They
live in Baldwin, Michigan.  They are buying a house in Casa Grande which they will use as their winter home.  We had a great visit.  After
lunch Jim and I went to Publix and bought some ice cream.  Nan’s favorite Ice Cream was Peppermint which is mine also.  It is hard to
find this time of the year, but Publix had some and we also got Butter Pecan.  The weather was nice but still cool to me at 68º so we did
not go to the Lazy River.  About 6 we went to Chili’s to eat.  We tried 2 other places but they had long lines.  We still had to wait about
10 minutes.  After a great steak dinner we took Jim and Nan to where they were staying visiting friends.
January 29, 2012.  Another great day in the lazy river.
January 30, 2012.  Still another great day in the lazy river.
January 31, 2012.  Howard and Florence arrived for another visit.  Weather was a little cool so we didn’t get in the lazy rive.r
